About the project
The project developed by the CASPolska Association called “The Transparency of Drug Reimbursement in Poland – Oncology”, is co-financed by the European Social Fund, within the framework of the Human Capital Operational Programme, Priority V “Good governance”; Measure 5.4 “Development of the third sector’s potential”; Sub-measure 5.4.2 “Development of civic dialogue”. The Project aims to increase the transparency of reimbursement decisions, by providing easier internet access to public information and other information related to the reimbursement process of oncological drugs in Poland, in relation to world practice.
In order to achieve it, the following measures will be taken:
- Reimbursement monitoring
Monitoring will be conducted throughout the entire project; it is aimed at running an ongoing control of the law-making process and implementation of the law in the area of oncological drugs reimbursement. It also controls information about the subject of reimbursement status of the oncological drugs included in the WiRKliR database. The main purpose of the database is to facilitate citizens’ access to public information regarding cancer drugs reimbursement decisions in Poland as well as it will. - WiRKliR database
The project team will create and continually update Guidelines and Clinical and Reimbursement Recommendations database (WiRKliR database). - Reimbursement reports
The outcomes of the measures taken within the project will be presented in the form of reports prepared on a yearly basis (for year 2009 and 2010). The reports will summarize the reimbursement situation in the foregoing year. The conference will summarize the measures taken within the project. It will aim at presenting the final report on oncology drugs reimbursement situation in Poland, administrative aspects regarding the matter, applicable procedures and proposed corrective measures.
